I was using the FIB-SEM today for some nanofabrication experiments!

This instrument uses electron and ion beams for imaging as well as deposition and milling of material. We use it to create nano and micro structures and to fabricate devices 🔬

✨Let's go on an adventure to the physics lab ✨

This is a pretty standard lab day for me. My experiments often take several days to set up and run so lots of patience and monitoring is needed!

I work with semiconductor materials to investigate electron spin and try and make devices to control spin within these materials. These experiments usually involve getting the sample really cold and passing a current through it while applying huge magnetic fields 🧲
